There’s a lookout point above Antisamos where the whole bay spreads out below you, hills on both sides, water so clear it barely looks real from up there. It’s the kind of view that makes you want to stop the car just to take it in before heading down.
Once you’re actually in the water, it’s pleasantly warm without being hot, comfortable enough to stay in for a while, and remarkably clear. It’s the kind of clarity where you can watch your feet the whole way in before it even gets deep. It’s calm too, more lake than sea most days, so it’s an easy spot to just float and unwind.
What really sets Antisamos apart is the setup on land. Rows of umbrellas and sunbeds line the shore, and here’s the best part: they’re free. No sneaky per-day charge, no minimum spend at the bar to “earn” your spot. You just walk up, pick a pair of chairs, and settle in.
One thing worth knowing if you’re planning your afternoon: the umbrellas don’t fully block the sun once it swings around. By early to mid afternoon, at least one of the two chairs under each umbrella ends up catching direct sun. If you’re chasing shade all day, grab your spot earlier or be ready to rotate chairs with whoever you’re there with.
Parking is free and plentiful right by the beach, which is a small thing but makes the whole visit that much smoother. There are also proper bathrooms on site, and you can change into your swimsuit there too, so you don’t need to arrive already beach-ready.
Between the calm water, the free loungers, and the easy logistics, Antisamos is the kind of beach that lets you actually relax instead of managing a dozen small annoyances. Bring a book, bring sunscreen, and don’t rush the afternoon.
