Cafe De La Presse

San Francisco has a lot of different restaurants that offer a variety of foods from all over the world. If you`re in the mood for a French experience I found that French bistro on the edge of Chinatown. Café de la Presse is located on the corner of Bush and Grant right across from the Dragon`s Gate entrance to Chinatown.

The décor is typical of French cafe with the round bistro table, the central bar and the use of a lot of wood finishes. After looking over the menu I stopped my choice on the cauliflower potage and the Canard Confit. The potage was very good and it was a nice size bowl. The Canard Confit was also excellent and the skin was nice and crispy. I did find the portions a little bit big. French food is mostly about taste and not quantity and the food had the right taste but I just couldn’t finish my plate. But I guess it’s better to have more than not enough.

They have a lot of French classics and they also offer a 3 or 4 course “Menu Gourmand”. They also have daily specials from Monday to Friday.

The staff was also very pleasant and helpful throughout the meal. They also have a wine list that can be ordered by the bottle and also has a lot of choices by the glass.

Overall and nice experience, I tried their diner but they are also open for breakfast and lunch and do brunch also on the weekends.
