Knox Tavern

FRANCAIS

Knox Tavern is a cool neighborhood spot on Centre Street. I’ve been there a couple of times and each time it was lots of fun. Lot of wood, with ”garage door” type window give on the outside. There is a main bar as well as low tables and bistro height as well.

I have to say that I had more fun as a group since it does get loud. Maybe it was because I’ve been between Thursday and Saturday and I haven’t tried during the rest of the week.

Fish, meat, pasta they have a well balanced menu that offers a little something for everyone. They also offer a variety of appetizers, I’ve had oysters twice and both time I was not disappointed.

Food is excellent, on my last visit I had the poached Haddock which was served with swiss chard, new potatoes, braised onions and mussels. It was a great choice and portions are generous for the price that you pay. The broth that the mussels were in was so good that I had to dip my brioche type bread into it.

This place is a great add on in that neighborhood and it’s actually lots of fun. If you’re in the area or looking for a new place to try you should give it a try.
