As you might already know, I love Japanese food and sushi. I’v been eating sushi since the 90’s when it was not yet very popular in North America. That been said not all sushi restaurants offer the same quality of sushi and sashimi and that’s always a quest for me to find a good place where ever I go.
I have to say I was pretty lucky to find Sanraku. It was close to where I was conducting business and decided to give it a try. They offer lunch special which consist of a main dish, miso soup, salad and to your choice sushi or sashimi.
Since I wanted to get a real feel of the quality of their fish I opted for the sashimi, with teriyaki chicken. Soup and salad were good but I was very happy and enjoyed their sashimi. Sushi on the west coast always seems more fresh but even so not all places have the good stuff. What we had here was very good quality melt in your mouth and tasteful sashimi. I have to admit that for the price of the Bento box I was a little skeptical of what I would get but in the end was far from disappointed. Teriyaki chicken was also good but if I would go back I would probably treat my self to sashimi and sushi only.
If you go for lunch or dinner I would suggest a reservation as it’s located in the financial district and a few steps away from the Moscone Convention Center.
