Pizzeria Napoletana

FRANCAIS

I use to come here quite often but I have to admit that it had been years since I had step foot in the place. Wanting to catch up with some old friends we decided that would be the perfect place to meet on a Sunday afternoon.

The decor as changed a little but nothing drastic, they still have the tables set up the same way and the cozy feeling that always makes you feel at home. The menu also stayed the same and that is something I appreciate from a Montreal classic. I’ve been going there for over 25 years and I think for the last 20 always order the same thing.

They have quite and extensive pizza selection and if you’re hungry you can eat one by yourself. If you are moderately hungry you might want to get some appetizers and share a pizza. I always like to order the Antipasto La Buffala which is a simple but great tasting dish made of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella Di Buffala with olive oil and fresh basil. It doesn’t come cut like some other restaurants like to serve it and you can tell by the texture that it’s fresh.

As for pizza like I said I always order the same the Genoves. This is not your typical pizza as it’s made with Pesto, Smoked Turkey with jalapenos, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese and sliced tomatoes. All those taste really come well together and what I appreciate overall is the fact that it consistently taste the same which is why this place is an establishment in the city.

They have waters and soft drinks but this is a bring your own wine restaurant. BYOW can always give you a chance to spend a little bit more at the SAQ to get a good bottle or to keep the budget down not pay the mark up the restaurant usually takes. There is a SAQ a few blocks away at the Jean Talon Market but I don’t think they close late.
