What really made me homesick when I was away from Montreal for long period of time, was the local foods we’re use too. Of course there’s local dishes that are typical, but I can’t believe how hard finding Rotisserie Chicken vs Fried Chicken can be. That’s why ordering Rotisserie Chicken from one of the main local chains was almost the first meal I would have when I was back in town.
It’s not that I have anything against the bigger chains, it does the job when you’re in a rush or have a craving but there are in the city some better options when it comes to chicken. Paradis BBQ was on my radar to try out but since I’m mostly the going out for dinner type of guy I had never been.
Times been what they are I finally got around to order from them to try out some of the items on the menu. In normal times when we go in a restaurant we’re a group and since we’re all food lovers we just order a bunch of dishes and try a bit of everything. On this occasion looking at the menu and been alone I did what I normally do and over ordered.
What did I get? Naturally some Chicken so I went for a quarter leg, then I added some Ribs and like this was not enough added some Mac’N Cheese to the order. ”Regrets I had a few but then again too few to mention” sorry for quoting Frank but even if it was a lot of food no regrets on the order and then again to make my life easier they had some combos available as if I needed the temptation.
The Chicken was very good with skin just crispy enough. They make a pretty good gravy to go with it too. I did say gravy and not BBQ sauce as it comes with both and the traditional coleslaw but the gravy had a nice spicy taste to it. The ribs were just fall of the bone and I really mean it, just touch it with the fork and here it was ready to eat. The Mac’N Cheese was also good but looking back I would have order more ribs instead of the Mac’N Cheese… I shall be back for another serving.
