With the restaurants opening and closing due to regulations the one way to always enjoy some of your favorite restaurants food is take out or delivery. That’s why I decided that every week I will be sharing some take out or delivery options I will try. The first restaurant I will share, Au Pied de Cochon.
If you have been there before or to their sugar shack you know them for their decadent menu. In these times they reinvented themselves and are now into pizzas.
I first saw it on their Instagram account and been a fan of Foie Gras (then again who’s not) they totally got me with their post. They have a selection to chose from and you can also order wine or bubbly to accompany your dinner.
The pizza I ordered and that I picked up was their Charcuterie and Foie Gras pizza. When I first open the box I felt cheated as on their Instagram post they had slice of foie gras the same way you would have bocconcini on a margherita pizza. What I got was foie gras which had the texture of ground beef. The sentiment went away the minute I started eating it as every bite had foie gras on it which I doubt would have happened with the slices. Just to clarify this was not just dough and foie gras there was also Tomato and basil sauce, PDC charcuteries, figs, goat cheese and arugula.
They currently offer pick up and delivery to the Plateau only (visit their site to see if you qualify) from Wednesday to Sunday. If you are not in their delivery zone and pick up you’ll be glad to see there’s plenty of parking on Duluth with all dinning rooms closed. They also set up a safe environment for pick up at the entrance of the restaurant.
