This is a 5.3 km loop hike located in Valley or Fire State Park, Nevada. The elevation gain is only 136 meters and the trail is easy. I drove from Las Vegas and it took 1h to get there. Most trails have parking areas but I would pick up a map at the visitor center and plan my day accordingly.
It is a moderate trail, but you will be walking on stones and sand. The trail has a few steep inclines with rocks in the path which will make it a bit harder. Clockwise the trail will lead you first to Fire Wave which is quite beautiful with the red and white line pattern. You will then go through some golden canyons that will lead you to the road. Crossing the road you will continue and keeping left end up in some tighter but still walkable red canyons that are just awesome and where you can make real cool videos. If you’re lucky you might see some Long Horn Sheeps like I did when I reached White Domes.
This was my favorite trail in the park as I got to see a lot for the distance I had to hike. It’s like visiting 3 sites in one hike.
There weren’t many people on the trail, but I strongly suggest if you’re going to hike this park that you get there early. By 11am on the weekends it gets hard to find a parking spot and you might have to wait a bit for someone to go so you can take their spot.
