America The Beautiful Passes

Francais

Outdoors has become popular during the pandemic and not wanting to get to a park and get refused entry due to over capacity I did some research. There were several options for me such as to getting there early, purchasing my entry in advance but the one that made more sense for me was this annual pass.

This annual pass is available to the general public and provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee for a year, beginning from the date of sale. The pass admits the pass holder/s and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per vehicle fee areas and pass holder plus three adults, not to exceed four adults, at per person fee areas. Children under 16 are admitted free.

The pass can be obtained in person at the park or via the Internet at https://store.usgs.gov/pass but if you go on the website you will find a lot of retailers where you can also buy it from. The pass is also available for non-resident and they can mail it to you in Canada.

The annual pass cost 80$ which represent visiting about 3 parks since entry is usually between 30-35$ per vehicle. To top it off you can also have a cosigner on the card that can use it when you don’t, all in all I find its a great deal if you`re a hiker or if you just enjoy the outdoors.

This pass works in US National Parks but also in other parks too, you just have to check to see if the park accepts it.
