Cool event happening this weekend if you’re a fan of BMX, Mountain biking or just Extreme sports. The boulevard St-Laurent will be host between Sherbrooke and Ontario to the Mud Rocker. Mud Rocket is a Mountain bike and BMX event with athletes from all over the world competing for 4000$ in prizes.
This free event will be held rain or shine on September from 6pm-9pm and September 12th from noon to 9:30pm.
This weekend, Saint-Laurent Boulevard, between Sherbrooke and Ontario, will be the site of the second annual MUD ROCKER freestyle dirt road BMX and mountain bike competition – a Tribu Expérientiel and Association des sports d’action production, presented by FIDO. The event is also sanctioned by the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour. What’s more, it’s free for the public, who can come and see the prowess of local and international athletes. Approximately 50 athletes from England, Canada, Scotland, the U.S., France, Norway, and the Netherlands will take to the roughly 90-meter dirt track that also includes 4 modules – specially designed by last year’s mountain bike champ, Canadian athlete, Matt Macduff. Riders put together tricks and jumps that reach up to 8 meters… all to impress the judges and take home the $4,000 prize.
“Our goal is always to create opportunities to bring inspiring athletes and the public together in order to share a unique and intense experience in a festive and casual atmosphere, says Micah Desforges, President of Tribu Expérientiel. After the success of the JACKALOPE action sports festival and its multidisciplinary program last July, we wanted to provide people with another urban event, one that featured sports cycling
.” While last year’s competition was held on rue Saint-Denis, MUD ROCKER 2015 can now be experienced on SaintLaurent Boulevard. The different site configuration means a heightened experience for the athletes and the chance to welcome more spectators. And there were 15,000 last year!
