Burger week is starting this week and what better way to start it off then a premiere tasting at one of the participating restaurant. Baton Rouge Steakhouse  was awesome and invited some burger lovers and foodie to try their featured Burger for the event. When you think Baton Rouge you might not think burger but with their Angus beef let me tell you that they do a very good one.

The Burger they will be serving for Burger Week is a half a pound of premium Angus beef with smokey pulled pork, sautéed onions and red peppers, shredded lettuce, Swiss cheese, their signature homemade BBQ sauce and topped with a garlic ranch dressing. I liked their burger for several reasons:

  •   I don’t like burgers that are so gigantic that you don’t know if you should eat it or wrestle it and this one was the proper size you’d expect a burger to be.
  •  Was the mixed of taste, since their meat is fresh it was served medium and the pull pork with the BBQ smoky taste just gave you those 2 distinctive flavors of beef and pork. The other ingredients also mixed really well with the overall burger and it was gone from my plate in less than 10 minutes
  • If you don’t agree with reason one and are questioning my taste at number two at 14$ including a generous portion of fries It’s a very good value for your buck and you just have to try it for yourself!

As for the event it will be held  from September 1st to September 7th.  Le Burger Week 2016 will also be taking place, simultaneously, in Quebec City, Toronto, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Two countries, eight cities, and hundreds of delicious burgers, this year’s edition is for burger lovers only – focusing on what makes a burger great, by aiming to please even the most difficult burger enthusiasts out there!

This year, Le Burger Week has partnered with Budweiser to present “Bud and Burgers” – where select participating restaurants in each city will offer their participating burger with a Budweiser at a special price! Make sure to look out for this special combo at the following Montreal restaurants; Bar Terrasse La Cabane du Portugal, Das Bier, Monsieur Restaurant + Bar and Art:brgr. Furthermore, Le Burger Week is proud to announce its partnership with ACE Bakery (www.acebakery.com), where, designated participating restaurants will be creating their specialty burgers topped with ACE Bakery buns.

As co-founder Thierry Rassam enthusiastically explains –

“our partnership with ACE Bakery is a nobrainer. Buns are an essential part of what makes a really good burger, and ACE Bakery is hailed for their highquality, mouth-watering buns!” Another feature unique to this year’s edition – Just Eat’s “Bring Le Burger Week Home Day”.

On September 4th, Just-Eat.ca will be offering various Le Burger Week participating burgers for delivery at a 20% discount! All customers have to do is – go on the website, browse through the available Le Burger Week restaurants, and pick which burgers they want delivered right to their door! Making its grand debut in 2012, Le Burger Week has impressively evolved from one city, 30 restaurants and 10,000 participants, into a festival spanning eight cities, over 225 restaurants ( 40 participating this year, in Montreal), and more than 100,000 participants!

Every year, each participating restaurant creates a unique burger; reflective of their overall concept and cuisine. These participating restaurants then offer a special “burger price”, where burger aficionados are encouraged to come eat and vote on www.leburgerweek.com.

At the end of the festival, the winner in each of the following categories will be announced – the “Burger of The Year”, the “Judge’s Choice”, the “Creative Award”, “ the “Tallest Burger”, and the “Healthiest Burger.”
