Snowshoeing: Goose, Hare and West Trail Loop

Version Francaise

This is a 7.5 km loop hike located in Val David/Val Morin Regional Park with a 400 meters elevation gain. The drive from Montreal is 1hr30min . The cost is 10$ and the trail is located at the park welcome center.

If you use the All Trails app beware that it’s not always accurate. First off the distance in the app is 6.3km and finished at 7.5km. Also reception was not great had to back track 50m here and there to get back on track. They do provide maps at the welcome center it’s a good idea to take one if you don’t have an app as there are several trails that criss cross and it could be confusing.

As much as on the way to the summit to the coming back down expect some climb. My partner was a bit out of shape and he found the last 2.5km hard as he was expecting a smooth downslope it will be a workout the whole way.

The trail is really worth it as there are a couple of nice view points on the trail. The ice formation along the cliff is also beautiful to look at and there are several places that you can also see them along the way.
